It's the same old story for many people - if you've got something to hide, it generally shows. This is no different for cheating partners, who want their "other dealings" kept totally secret from you.
If you suspect your spouse of cheating (there's normally a natural assumption when something's wrong), then there's certain tell-tale signs that will give you more of an idea. These signs are generally seen with cheating partners however they do sometimes crop up for a variety of other reasons and so just because your spouse might do some of the following things, it's not a guarantee that they are cheating on you. It just makes the odds more likely that they are, meaning that you should investigate further.
Here are some of the biggest tell-tale signs of a cheating spouse:
- They seem bored with you, work, hobbies and life in general. This can often show a mild form of "depression" caused by them no longer enjoying your relationship. If they have been like that for a couple of weeks, it might because they have new acquaintances.
- There is less intimacy in your relationship. If your sex life is non-existent mainly due to your spouse's lack of interest, it might be the case that they are occupying themselves with someone else.
- Your partner is working longer hours. This is one of the oldest excuses in the book for cheaters not being home on time. Although it might be genuine, if it happens a lot and your spouse then declines to talk about their work - then it might be an excuse covering up something else.
- You discover your partner is lying to you about a variety of things. This may suggest a range of problems, however if they are lying to you about one thing - why wouldn't they about another relationship?
- You notice charges on the credit card which don't make any sense. If your spouse has been spending your money on someone else, they will certainly not want to explain their expenses on the credit card bill - no matter how intriguing they are.
- They don't want to go anywhere with you any more. This might be because of a range of problems, but generally speaking, not showing an interest in you any more suggests they have someone else.
Those are the most common signs of a cheating spouse but there are more. It all depends on the individual and how they try to hide what they don't want you to see.
If you suspect them of cheating, it's imperative to get as much proof / evidence as possible to be sure of what they are doing. The easiest way to do this, we have found, is to look through their cell phone records. Because they will likely use their cell phone for communicating with a lover, it will almost certainly have those records on.
All you need to do is look through the records, find some phone numbers that they continually contact either by phone or message and then run a reverse phone lookup on those numbers. Once you've got the information about the numbers, you will then either need to confront your partner about the problem or investigate further.
